On September 4, 2012, the SEC charged China Sky One Medical Inc. and its chief executive with fraud for recording fake sales of a weight loss product. The SEC alleges that China Sky One Medical falsely stated in 2007 annual and quarterly reports that it had entered into a strategic distribution scheme with a Malaysian company that would become an exclusive distributor of a product; the deal never took place.
